Little Moments:

It seems like quite a number of us fear rejection and disappointment, especially when it concerns romance. Is it because this is where we become the most fragile version of ourselves, or does it only mean we are not putting ourselves out there often enough? 

I, as a causious type, seldom take the initiative to reveal my feelings to the other person. Sometimes I'd do some little probing to see whether the interest is mutual, and if it turns out to be a null result, I'd move on. I don't do further persuing for I know it can be pretty exhausting if the feeling is not mutual (there's been an exception though and lesson learned).

I think people should work on making their interest message clearer to that one person they are interested in (the suggestion is for the introverted. Extroverted just pass along). Or even better, just find a way to tell the other person about your interests and concerns. And more importantly, don't take it too personally if the response you get is 'thank you, but no'. We shouldn't stop trying until we get to the right person.
